Chakra cleanse days 4 -6: Sacral Chakra

The second chakra is known as the sacral chakra and Svadhisthana in Sanskrit. It is the chakra that is responsible for our creativity, relationships and sexual energy. It is located above the pelvic bone and below the navel.

An imbalanced sacral chakra can generally lead to emotional instability, fear of change, anxiety, depression or addiction. The sacral chakra is one chakra that tends to fluctuate quite a bit between being underactive and overactive and its important to know which way your chakra is swinging in order to bring it back into balance. The signs of an underactive second chakra are; sluggishness, emotional dumbness, inability to express ones emotions, lack of joy, indecisiveness, feelings of unworthiness, feelings of shame and guilt, codependent relationships, fear of change and anxiety. While the signs of an overactive sacral chakra are; being overemotional, unhealthy attachments to others, sexual addictions, aggression, selfishness, mood swings and poor boundaries. The most effective way to open this chakra is to get into tune with your emotions and creativity. It is often said that the sacral chakra is where the child within us lives. So, its time to unleash our creativity and get into tune with who we are and how we feel. Be kind to yourself, release all expectations you have of yourself or you perceive others to have of you. Its time to play like a child! Its time to unleash the child within us! :)

A balanced sacral chakra, not only leads to a more creative life, with effective and healthy boundaries it also leads to more confidence. Opening and balancing this chakra may just be the catalyst that you have been waiting for to get moving on that creative project that you have kept hidden in the closet, in the fear that it may "not be good enough". :)

The second chakra is feminine in its energy and is characterized by the colour orange and represents the water element. The chakra is symbolised by a circle with six petals and a moon crescent. Where the moon symbolises the water element and the crescent moon represents the connection between the moon and water.

The most common physical ailments that are associated with an imbalance sacral chakra are reproductive organs, bladder, kidneys and the lower back.

The mantras associated with the sacral chakra are "VAM" and "I Feel". I cannot stress enough how important this chakra is to how you are feeling! The solfeggio scale sound frequency associated with the sacral chakra is 417hz. The best way to balance the second chakra is through meditation and yoga.

When working on this chakra choose gemstones that bring out the child in you! Crystals that provide a conduit for your creativity! Some of my recommendations would be orange calcite, citrine, carnelian and amber.

The Earths sacral chakra is located at Lake Titicaca, on the border if Bolovia & Peru.

For the next three days focus with intention on clearing and balancing your sacral chakra. You can do this in a number of different ways. You can use the meditations below, use one that you prefer, use a mantra meditation instead, do yoga poses, sit in stillness focusing on your sacral chakra... as you can see there are a number of different ways to cleanse your chakras. Pick one method that resonates with you and set a time out every day (preferably the same time everyday) where you will not be disturbed and with intention connect, clear and recharge your sacral chakra. Don't forget to share your experiences in the facebook group! :) I would recommend also printing out/ writing down the affirmations in the picture below and saying them out loud everyday with intention (go ahead and create some of your own affirmations and share them with the group, if you feel called to do so! :)).

With this chakra, I would like to recommend two different meditations. One is based on visualisation, while the other clears the sacral by incorporating breath work as well.
