Chakra cleanse days 13 -15: Throat chakra

Updated: Feb 1, 2021

As we move away from the heart chakra, we begin focusing on the first of the spiritual chakras, the throat chakra. The throat chakra also known as Visuddha in Sanskrit is located at the base of your neck. It it through our throat chakra that we express who we are and speak our truth, our creative identity is very closely linked with the health of this chakra.

The throat chakra is physically associated with our thyroid gland, which regulates how energy in processed in our bodies through temperature, growth and our metabolism. This chakra is extremely important and a blocked throat chakra can manifest in a number of physical and mental ailments. It can lead to thyroid disfunction, feelings of anxiety (a number of people report that they feel like there is an obstruction in their throat when they get anxious), not being able to speak up for yourself (being bullied or even doing the bullying), not being able to express how you feel etc.

As this chakra is all about how we express our creativity, it is connect to out sacral chakra which is all about our emotions and creativity. Often the throat chakra is said to be where the bottle neck of the movement of energy through our body, hence in order to allow the energy to flow freely from our lower chakras to our upper chakras (and back), it is extremely important to unblock, balance and heal this chakra.

The throat chakra is masculine in energy and is symbolised by a blue circle surrounded by sixteen petals and at the center of which you will sometimes find a crescent with a circle inside. The element associated with this chakra is Akasha, or pure ether and the mantras are "I SPEAK" and "HAM".

The crystals associated with the throat chakra are lapis lazuli, blue topaz, aquamarine, larimar and amazonite. Again these are only my recommendations, any blue crystal will assist you with the balancing of the throat chakra

The Earths throat chakra is located at the Great Pyramid of Giza (Egypt), the Sphinx (Egypt) and the Mount of Olives (Jerusalem). The Solfeggio sound frequency of 741 hz resonates and helps balance and unblock the throat chakra.

For the next three days focus with intention on clearing and balancing your throat chakra. You can do this in a number of different ways. You can use the meditations below, use one that you prefer, use a mantra meditation instead, do yoga poses, sit in stillness focusing on your throat chakra... as you can see there are a number of different ways to cleanse your chakras. Pick one method that resonates with you and set a time out every day (preferably the same time everyday) where you will not be disturbed and with intention connect, clear and recharge your sacral chakra. Don't forget to share your experiences in the facebook group! :) I would recommend also printing out/ writing down the affirmations in the picture below and saying them out loud everyday with intention (go ahead and create some of your own affirmations and share them with the group, if you feel called to do so! :)).
